Merrion Executive Coaching
About Peter McGrath
Merion Counselling and Psychotherapy is pleased to announce the expansion of our services to include executive coaching, welcoming Peter McGrath, who brings over thirty years of business experience, to lead this new offering.
As the demands of leadership continue to evolve, we recognise that the boundary between personal wellbeing and professional performance is increasingly interconnected. Executives and leaders often need support that addresses not just strategic and operational challenges, but the emotional and psychological dimensions of leading effectively. Peter's extensive background in business, paired with our deep expertise in mental health, allows us to offer a truly integrated approach: one that combines seasoned, practical, goals-oriented coaching with a thoughtful understanding of the human side of leadership.
Peter sees executive coaching as confidential partnership between the client and the coach. He is fully committed to your personal and professional success and wellbeing through high support/high challenge conversations that encourage accountability and lead you to having the confidence to take action.
“I view my coaching technique around 3 main pillars:
1. Creating a safe and supportive environment.
2. Focused listening
3. Setting goals and reviewing progress.
I am qualified as an Executive coach through a program awarded the European Quality Award by the EMCC. I have over 30 years running successful business’s and have chaired both a representative professional body here in Ireland, and one of the boards under CORU, which is Ireland’s multi -profession health regulator. I have also been involved over many years in coaching within a sporting context.”
The sessions are 50 minutes duration and are based in offices in Dublin 2. Face to face often is the best way for real engagement , but online options remain available.
Coaching journeys typically take 4-6 individual sessions with the timeframe based around the client’s progress
We believe this expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting clients where they are, helping leaders build resilience, clarity, and confidence as they navigate the complexities of their roles.
